Canton Girls Win Don Petty Tourney

Senior forward Christy Foster led Canton with 12 points as the Canton Lady Bears won the Don Petty Memorial Tournament, defeating Lisbon 51-29 in front of a hometown crowd at Hugh C. Williams High School. In addition to her 12 points, Foster had 8 rebounds and 3 assists and was named the tournament's MVP. Canton led 29-21 at the half and didn't relent, outscoring the Knights 24-8 in the second half. Canton senior guard Brittany Jones scored just 2 points, but grabbed 7 rebounds, 9 assists, and a steal and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Lisbon was led by Danielle DeCelles and Bridget Teele, who each scored 6 points. DeCelles was named to the All-Tournament Team. After scoring 11 points in their victory over Hermon-DeKalb, senior Morgan Beldock was held to just 2 points and went scoreless for the last three quarters.
