Gouverneur Beats Massena, 38-27

Gouverneur hosted the Massena Red Raiders this week in Section 10 wrestling. Massena started off with a pin at 112 from Steven LaClair. Gouverneur won the 119 lb and 125 lb weight classes with Dylan Morrison winning by a tech fall and David Sleeman by a pin. Massena won the 130lb match by decision from Kevin Beaudoin. The 135 and 140lb matches were won by pin from Gouverneur’s Duane Roberts and Zachary Cummings. Massena then again won another match at 145lbs with Mike Perry picking up the pin. Gouverneur’s Cory Storie pinned Sienkiewicz. Massena’s Tom Barreiro picked up a decision at 160lbs. At 171lbs Carson Gates got a pin for Gouverneur. Jon Ashley of Massena picked up a decision at 189lbs. The 215lb match was won with Carl Devito picking up a decision over his Massena opponent. Massena’s Zach Wiley picked up a forfeit at 103lbs. Gouverneur will be hosting Clifton-Fine next week. Massena will be traveling to face Last year’s section 10 dual meet winners Canton.
