N-N, OFA, Tupper Lake Advance to States

The Section 10 Cross Country championships were held at the Norwood-Norfolk school to determine the schools that will be returning to Norwood on November 10th for the New York State Championship meet. In Class B, OFA edged Malone by the score of 39-43. Canton took 3rd place with 74, Gouverneur 4th place with 94 and Salmon River placed 5th with a score of 95. In Class C, Norwood-Norfolk defeated Potsdam 20-39. In Class D Tupper Lake won by default because Brushton-Moira had a incomplete team and Massena is the only Class A team in Section 10. Jon Eng lead all Section 10 runners with a time of 17:00. Matt Pierce of Canton came in 2nd 30 seconds behind with a time of 17:30. Austin Dufresne of NN had a strong 3rd place finish with a time of 17:35. Mike Schanck and Joel Laudry of Malone came in 4th and 5th respectively with times of 17:57 and 18:04.
