Madrid-Waddington Shots Did Not Fall in Finals

The Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets played the Haldane Blue Devils for the NYS Class C title in Troy at Hudson Valley CC. The Yellowjackets started the game with a 13-5 run in the first 6 minutes of play. From that point on, it was difficult to buy a basket. Their shots just would not fall. Haldane charged back in the second quarter and led at the half by the score of 24-22. M-W only scored 4 points in the 3rd quarter, but remained to stay in the game with their tenacious defense. They caused many Haldane turnovers but just could not covert them into points on the other end of the floor. Haldane built up a 10 point lead early in the 4th quarter and held on for a 46-36 win. Crystal Mouthorp led the Yellowjackets with 9 points and 2 rebounds. Stephanie Lancto added 7 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. Cierra Wells had 6 points and 4 rebounds for M-W. Congratulations Lady Yellowjackets for a great post-season run.
