Malone Advances to NYS Class A Final

The Malone Huskies jumped out to a 8-1 lead in the first quarter of play and held on for an 11 point win over Floral Park to advance to the NYS Class A Final for the second year in a row. The final score was 43-32. Malone led at the half by the score of 16-9. Floral Park made a run in the 4th quarter but the defense of Malone stopped them short. Malone had 4 big blocked shot from their leaders (Alyson Johnson and Haley Poupore) in the last 3 minutes of play that ended any chance of a Floral Park comeback. Haley Poupore led the Huskies with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Kelsey Johnson added 8 points and 2 rebounds. Ashley Marshall had 8 points and 3 rebounds. Alyson Johnson scored 7 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and had 3 big blocks in the game. Malone will play Honeoye Falls-Lima, the Section 5 champion at 7:00pm on Saturday for the NYS Title.
