Malone Girls Win Opening Round in State Playoff

The Malone Huskies defeat Averill Park in the opening round of the Class A state playoffs by the score of 48-34. The halftime score was 18-16. Alyson Johnson led the Huskies with 13 points. Haley Poupore added 11 points and Ashley Marshall finished with 9 points for Malone. Averill Park's Katie Duma tallied 13 points in the loss. Malone will face Indian River at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse HS.
