#4 Colton-Pierrepont Downs #5 Hermon-Dekalb

Zach Regan of Colton-Pierrepont hits 1 of his 5 3-pointers against H-D in the Class D quarterfinals. Regan finished with a game-high 27 points.

The #5 seed Hermon-Dekalb Demons were looking to upset the #4 seed Colton-Pierreponts Colts on Saturday evening at Massena HS in the Section 10 Class D quarterfinals. The Demons started strong taking a 7-2 lead in the first 2 minutes of play. By the end of the quarter the Colts fought there way back and took a 13-12 lead. In the second quarter, it was the Colts that took an early lead in the quarter 17-12 only to see the Demons battle back to tie it up again. With about 4 minutes left in the half the Colts started to take charge of the game. From that points on the Colts went on a 41-21 run behind the sharp shooting of Senior Zach Regan. Regan led all scorers in the game with a total of 27 points including 5 3-pointers. Andrew Bonno had 11 points and Patrick Reilly finsihed with 8 points for the C-P. Dustin Fenlong led the Green Demons with 11 points and Chris Wentzel added 10 points for H-D. The Colts will have the tough task of playing the undefeated #1 NYS ranked Class D Chateaugay Bulldogs on Thursday at SUNY Potsdam in the Class D semnifinals.
