The fourth seeded Heuvelton lady Bulldogs took on the fifth seeded lady Cougars of Edwards-Knox in the Quarter-Finals of the Girls Class "D" Playoffs. Both teams started out extremely cold in the first quarter. Turnovers and miscued shots riddled the Bulldogs and Cougars. The Bulldogs Squeaked out a 6-5 first quarter lead. Heuvelton came out in the second quarter and ran the floor. The Bulldogs 1-3-1 zone defense made it tough for the Cougars to get a decent shot. Yet, E-K still missed easy lay-ups and jump shots. Heuvelton's fast break offense led them to a 17-9 halftime lead. E-K came out in the second-half in a full-court press which rattled the lady Bulldogs. But both teams fell into their game and the Bulldogs led after three 33-24. Led by Miranda Typhair, who scored 16 second-half point, E-K came out a went on a 8-0 run, continued from the third quarter, trailing only 34-30. Heuvelton's Heather Johnson ended their run with a lay-up with 6:09 left to play, leading 36-30. Heuvelton then used some clutch foul shooting to gain a 48-39 victory and moved in the semi-finals to play Chateaugay. Miranda Typhair had 18 points to lead the Cougars. Chelsea Hargrave had 11 points and Heather Johnson led all scorers with 19 points.
