Potsdam Girls Defeat Canton in Shootout

The Potsdam Sandstoners win over the Canton Bears in a shootout to advance to the championship game. The score after regulation and 2 overtime periods was 1-1. Potsdam won the shootout by the score of 3-2. Katelyn Driscoll tied the game at 1-1 for the Sandstoners assisted by Jill Tardelli and Lexi Hunt. Cambray Merrick scored the opening goal for the Bears. Canton gave Potsdam all they had in the 3rd period and OT but were unable to get the puck past Abby Tardelli and the Potsdam defense. Potsdam will play Salmon River Sunday afternoon for the NYS Girls Hockey title.
