The Ogdensburg Blue Devils and the Massena Red Raiders have had some classic battles in recent years. Each game has always been very competitive and Monday night was no exception. The game started slow at first with neither team being able to put the ball in the basket. The first quarter saw the 2 teams trade baskets back and forth. The score at the end of the 1st quarter was 13-10 OFA. The second quarter was a different story. The OFA Blue Devils were running smooth on all cylinders and went on a 13-2 run led by Megan Morrison who scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the quarter. The halftime score was 32-19. The Red Raiders came out strong in the 3rd quarter and went on a run of their own. The Massena defense caused several turnovers and they held OFA to just 4 points in the 3rd quarter. With 31 seconds left in the 3rd, the Red Raiders fought their way back and tied the game at 36-36 on a 3 pointer from Taylor Bacon. The fourth quarter was back and forth the whole way. One team would get up by 4 points and then other team would come back and tie it up again. With less than 3 minutes to go in the game, Senior Jordyn LaRock made 2 key buckets on consecutive trips down the floor and put the Blue Devils up by 4 points, 48-44. They would not lose the lead again. The final score of the game was 51-49. Senior Sara LaFave scored 11 points for OFA and grabbed 6 rebounds. Lindsay Drummond had 8 points and 2 rebounds. Taylor Bacon led the Red Raiders with 15 points. Anna Riley scored 14 and Nicole Johnson had 11 points for Massena.
